The fixed points

Old Lighthouse

The landmark where the Vorderreihe meets the beach promenade: the brick tower with the Maritim high-rise as its unequal neighbour – the most photographed motif in town. Best in evening light.

Four-masted barque Passat

The tall ship on the Priwall bank is visible across the Trave from the Vorderreihe and a few minutes away by ferry. Open as a museum ship in season; the masts alone are worth the crossing.

Priwall

The peninsula opposite the town centre: promenade and marina at the front, quiet nature behind – natural beach, dunes and the view back to Travemünde. The ferry ride is part of the experience.

Vorderreihe and promenade

The waterfront mile: arriving ferries almost within reach, gabled houses and restaurants behind, and in season the sand sculpture exhibition. The liveliest spot in town at night.

Brodten cliffs

North of the Kurstrand the coast rises into cliffs – the path on top runs towards Niendorf with wide views across the Bay of Lübeck. Sturdy shoes; no bathing at the natural shore below.
