Getting there and parking

By train

The regional train from Lübeck stops three times in Travemünde: Skandinavienkai, Hafenbahnhof and – closest to the promenade and beach – Lübeck-Travemünde Strand. During Travemünde Week the train is the most relaxed way in.

By car

Car parks fill up early on festival weekends. Near the beach: Am Leuchtturm, Leuchtenfeld, Godewind, Backbord, Kowitzberg; closer to the festival area, the Hafenbahnhof car park. There are no live occupancy figures – late arrivals park further out and walk.

To the Priwall

The Priwall ferry shuttles between the Vorderreihe and the Priwall – for passengers and cars. From the Priwall side the regatta scene lies right in front of you, with the Passat at your back.

Where to watch

  1. Promenade and Nordermole: close to the action as the fleets sail out and return.
  2. Priwall side: quieter, looking across the Trave estuary – the ferry ride is part of the experience.
  3. Brodten cliffs: an elevated view across the bay for the races further out.

With children

Entry to the festival area is free and the shore programme is family-friendly – and the beach is never far when attention fades. The ongoing sand sculpture exhibition along the promenade is on the same route.
