Parking costs vary in Travemünde depending on location – new fees have applied since 1 June 2025. It is most expensive near the beach, and free at the edge of town. What does parking cost in Travemünde?

Fees depend on the parking zone. Central, beach-side spaces (Mövenstein, Leuchtenfeld, ferry harbour) are in the more expensive Zone IV, edge areas in Zone V. Charges apply daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free parking: the Kowitzberg car park

At Kowitzberg on the edge of town you park free of charge – around 450 spaces, no ticket, no parking disc and no time limit. It is about a 15-minute walk to the centre, or take a bus. It is the cheapest choice for a full beach day. From here and from the Hafenbahnhof it is not far to the Priwall ferry.

Motorhomes and EVs

Public motorhome pitches cost 20,00 € per 24 hours; an overnight stay is permitted only once to restore fitness to drive, not for long-term parking. Fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids with an E number plate park free until 31 December 2026 – but only in Zones II, III and V, not in the central Zone IV. How do you pay?

Pay at the ticket machine or by mobile parking. Accepted apps include PayByPhone and mobilet – enter the parking-space number shown on the machine. The operator is KWL (Kommunale Wirtschaftsbetriebe Lübeck).
