About this site

Travemünde heute answers one question: what is going on in Travemünde right now? The answer sits in one place, every fact with its source and a visible verification date.

Who runs the site

Travemünde heute is an independent, privately run information service by Christian Fizia, who lives in Travemünde. The site launched on 1 July 2026 and has been expanded and edited continuously since. It is not an official site of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, the resort administration or Lübeck und Travemünde Marketing GmbH – and does not present itself as one.

Full operator details under § 5 DDG (German Digital Services Act) are in the imprint; questions, corrections and tips are welcome via the contact page.

What the site offers

At its core is day-to-day information about the Baltic seaside resort of Travemünde: events with date, venue and source; water temperature, water level and the official bathing-water rating; live departures of trains, buses and the Priwall ferry; parking, getting here and Travemünde Week. Editorial topic pages – from beach chairs and fish rolls to the Brodten cliff – and a directory of restaurants, playgrounds and sights complete the picture.

All content is available in German and English. AI agents and other programs can request the homepage as Markdown (Accept: text/markdown) and find an overview at /llms.txt.

The rules we work by

Every number carries its source and a timestamp. Live readings come from open, named sources: weather and water temperature from Open-Meteo, the water level from the official Pegelonline gauge service (WSV), the bathing-water rating from Schleswig-Holstein open data, place data from OpenStreetMap, events from editorial curation and the openly licensed dataset of the Schleswig-Holstein tourism agency. What the site does not know for certain, it does not claim – overdue entries are visibly marked rather than hidden.

The site shows no advertising and no paid placements. Places and events are not listed or favoured in exchange for money. The methodology page explains how each section works in detail.

How the site is built

Travemünde heute is a static website: data is fetched on the build server when the site is generated, the site is rebuilt several times a day and delivered as finished pages. Visiting it triggers no requests from your browser to data sources; there are no cookies, no personal tracking and therefore no consent banner. External maps load only after an explicit click. Details are in the privacy policy.
