Yacht harbour on the lower Trave

Marina Baltica

The yacht harbour upriver: sheltered on the lower Trave, with boatyards next door and a short run towards the Pötenitzer Wiek.

Where the Trave widens and calms down lies Marina Baltica – less shop window, more home port. For crews the position is practical: sheltered from the bay’s swell, with the big ships as neighbours on the way out to sea.

By land it is a short hop into town; on the water, the quiet cruising ground of the Pötenitzer Wiek begins just beyond the marina.

Local tip: From the water, the evening run is the treat: down the Trave with the last light – the lit-up Vorderreihe appears right on cue.
