The short answer: yes, Travemünde has wide free Wi-Fi. The resort operator’s official “GastWLAN” has been completely free to use since 2024 – no ticket, no Ostseecard, no registration. Simply pick the “GastWLAN” network in your Wi-Fi settings and accept the terms. It covers the beach and Trave promenades, the Kurstrand, the Brügmanngarten, the tourist information and the old town – and across the Trave the Priwall promenade, Passat harbour and Priwall beach. Do I need a ticket or Ostseecard for the GastWLAN?

No – not since 2024. Pick the “GastWLAN” network, accept the terms, done. The access code via the Ostseecard that used to be required has been abolished.

Is there Wi-Fi on the beach?

Yes: the Kurstrand and the Priwall beach are covered by the GastWLAN; reception is best, per the resort operator, at the beach terraces and in front of the DLRG main station.
